Since then it is being celebrated every year as National Technology Day across the country by various scientific and industrial organizations and educational institutions.

The software solution developed by a small Kerala based information technology company has been adjudged best "Business solution of the year - 2000" for the Asia-Pacific region in a global contest conducted by Microsoft. It has also achieved certification as a "proven solution" for Microsoft's "BackOffice" environment and for IBM's full range of server platforms.

Soft Systems Pvt.Ltd, a Kochi-based company engaged in software solution in agri-business, has been awarded the Microsoft Fusion 2000 for Asia and Pacific region and Microsoft BackOffice Logo certification for its 'HARVEST it TM'. The company, set up in 1983, has made a niche in software solutions in agri-business in the country as well as in the global market, Achamma Joseph, managing director, Soft Systems, told newsmen today.
